Deep Learning, Transformasi Pendidikan Indonesia

The Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Wamendikdasmen) reaffirms the government’s commitment to providing quality education for all Indonesian students. During his visit to Riau, Prof. Atip Latipulhayat emphasized the importance of education that not only provides access but also equips students with the necessary skills in the modern era, such as science, technology, and mathematics.

One of the government’s main focuses is the implementation of deep learning. This method of learning emphasizes three crucial aspects: mindful learning (learning with awareness), meaningful learning (learning with significance), and joyful learning (enjoyable learning). With deep learning, it is hoped that students can be more actively engaged in the learning process and gain a deeper understanding.

Additionally, the government is encouraging the improvement of literacy and mastery of science and technology. These skills are considered essential to face the challenges of the digital age. To support this, the government has integrated coding and artificial intelligence (AI) learning into the education curriculum.

The government acknowledges the vital role teachers play in the learning process. Therefore, efforts to enhance teacher competence are ongoing. Through various training and professional development programs, it is hoped that teachers can implement more innovative and enjoyable teaching methods.

This policy is predicted to bring significant changes to the education landscape in Indonesia, including changes in teaching methods, where teachers will use more active learning methods that directly involve students, such as group discussions, projects, and problem-based learning. Furthermore, the enhancement of teacher quality in designing effective and engaging learning experiences is crucial. Education methods will continue to be updated to accommodate technological advancements and the needs of the job market. This will result in the production of high-quality human resources capable of competing globally.

Despite the government’s strong commitment to improving education quality, there are still some challenges that need to be addressed. Some of these include the disparity in education quality between urban and rural areas, inadequate educational facilities, and a shortage of educators in remote areas.

In conclusion, the government’s dedication to enhancing education in Indonesia is evident, and efforts are being made to overcome the obstacles to ensure a brighter future for the country’s students.
