In an effort to reduce the extreme poverty rate, the Gianyar Regency Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of All Indonesian Regencies (APKASI) and the Nusantara Adiluhung Education Foundation (YPAN) for the BIE-D Program.
The Acting Regent of Gianyar, I Dewa Tagel Wirasa, openly acknowledged the decline in the quality of human resources in the regency. He emphasized that the government is working towards addressing this concerning issue by providing educational scholarships.
Welcoming the joint audience with APKASI and YPAN, I Dewa Tagel Wirasa stressed the importance of the event. The signing of the agreement for the Indonesia Golden-District Scholarship Program (BIE-D) was a key agenda during the meeting held on Monday (10/21).
The BIE-D program aims to enhance the capabilities and competencies of Indonesian human resources. It promotes equal education quality and sustainable development across all regions in Indonesia. APKASI’s presence has been a significant resource for various institutions in understanding the progress and development of regions nationwide.
Dr. Ida Ayu Ketut Surya Adnyani, SE., MAP., the Head of the Gianyar Regency Manpower Office, expressed hope that the MoU signing will help reduce unemployment and poverty rates in Gianyar.
APKASI’s Education Expert, Dr. Himmatul Hasanah, MP., highlighted the benefits experienced by thousands of students through the BIE-D program. The program offers three main initiatives: the Regular Program, Overseas Scholarship Program, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Program.
Dr. Himmatul Hasanah emphasized that the program is designed to enhance the quality of local human resources, requiring the participation of all stakeholders. APKASI is committed to building synergy with the Provincial Government and relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the BIE-D program in line with the national education vision.
